Dear Friends,
Last fortnight has seen the most horrific of air crashes the country has seen. The fact that several young medical hopefuls lost their lives was all the more saddening. Preparedness for such untoward disasters is therefore an essential aspect of training in acute medicine. The ISCCM leadership appreciates the-pro- active contribution of members from our Ahmedabad Branch, in the resuscitative efforts. The ISCCM is always ready to go the extra mile at times of need. We need to be prepared for such eventualities given the military conflicts we are witnessing of late.
Preparations for our annual Congress at Chennai are picking up momentum. Some of the best international figures have committed to their participation at the meeting. The Scientific Working Groups have started putting the agenda together under the able stewardship of Dr. Ranvir Tyagi. We urge all members to register for the Congress early. The Leads for the Workshops have also been identified and we are confident of a captivating and robust agenda for Criticare 2026
The ISCCM has been a leader in democratic ethos. The elections for the next leadership of ISCCM were conducted and completed in the right spirit. All those who contested the elections both at national level and branch level deserve unreserved praise for the faith & trust in the electoral process
As I complete 100 days of my tenure as President, I visualise a vibrant and dynamic ISCCM which will be a flag bearer of diversity, equity, democracy and forward-looking leadership among all professional bodies.
